The UK PADEL Masters Series is back – and it’s starting somewhere new. Jaxx Padel in Swansea hosts the opening round of the relaunched 2026/27 season on 10–11 October, with entry open to any player who fancies a crack at a national age-group title.

If you read our guide to the Masters Series or the recap of the inaugural finals, you’ll know the format: a national competition for pairs, run in age brackets, building towards a finals weekend. What’s changed for this season is worth knowing before you enter.

What is the Swansea round?

The Swansea round is the first of five 2026/27 Masters Series events, run at Jaxx Padel on 10–11 October and open to all entrants via the LTA.

The UK PADEL Masters Series’s debut season (2025–26) ran four qualifying rounds – Bristol, Fleet, Harrogate, and a round in Murcia, Spain – before finals at Padel Hub Southampton in March. That season has concluded. Swansea marks the start of a fresh campaign, now delivered by UK PADEL in partnership with the LTA, and the series has had a proper relaunch rather than simply repeating last year’s shape.

What’s changed for 2026/27?

The series has moved from six age categories to five, adding an Open division and an Over 70 category that didn’t exist last season.

Last season ran six brackets: Over 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60. The relaunched series consolidates to five – Open, Over 40, Over 50, Over 60, and Over 70 – each with separate men’s and women’s draws. Open and Over 70 are both new. The idea, per UK PADEL, is that an Open-level player, a 45-year-old regular, and a 72-year-old former county champion can each find a bracket built for them, rather than squeezing everyone into a narrower age band.

It’s also being run as a fuller season this time. Rather than four qualifying rounds feeding into one finals weekend, the calendar reads as five linked events across the year:

  • 10–11 October 2026 – Swansea, Jaxx Padel (South West)
  • 21–22 November 2026 – Fleet, Padel Hub (South East) – see our Fleet round guide
  • 16–17 January 2027 – Glasgow, Racket Barn (Grade 2)
  • 19–20 February 2027 – Albufeira, Padel Blu (Portugal)
  • 13–14 March 2027 – Masters Finals, Padel Hub, Tonbridge Wells (Grade 2)

Swansea and Fleet carry the early-season energy; Glasgow and the Finals are graded events within the wider LTA structure.

How do I enter the Swansea round?

Entry is open to all players through the LTA competitions site – no prior Masters experience or county representation required.

That’s a looser bar than last season’s routes, which leaned on LTA rankings for seeding and expected a fixed partner signed up for the whole campaign. UK PADEL is explicit this time that newcomers are welcome: you don’t need to have played the Masters before, and you don’t need to have represented your county or region to take part. Head to the LTA competitions portal to register – UK PADEL’s own site still carries some detail from the previous season’s entry process, so treat the LTA listing as the current word on partner and eligibility requirements as entries open.

What’s Jaxx Padel like as a venue?

Jaxx Padel is a 13-court indoor and outdoor centre in Swansea’s Central Business Park, one of the largest padel facilities in Wales.

The venue at Mill Stream Way, SA7 0AE, runs nine indoor panoramic courts alongside three outdoor double courts and one outdoor singles court, with a pro shop, food and drink area, and a members’ lounge. It’s a short drive from the city centre and sits alongside Pure Swansea as one of two dedicated padel venues in the city – see our Swansea padel courts guide for the full rundown of both, including pricing and booking details for casual play outside tournament weekends.

Should you enter?

If you’ve watched the Masters Series from a distance and wondered whether it’s for club-level players or only the county circuit crowd, Swansea is the round to test that. The relaunch drops the barrier to entry, adds a bracket for players who don’t fit the old age bands, and opens with a home fixture for Welsh players and anyone in the South West willing to make the trip. Check the LTA competitions site for the exact entry window and category draws before the 10–11 October weekend arrives.
