Padel provision in Worcester is limited but real. One dedicated club has opened in the city, there are options within 15 miles, and the nearest major padel cities – Birmingham and Cheltenham – are both under 30 minutes away.

Padel + Play Worcester

The main venue in the city is Padel + Play Worcester, located at Unit 8 Bromyard Business Park on the western edge of the city centre (WR2 5XU). It opened to full bookings soon after launch and has been running at high capacity since.

The facility has 4 indoor courts – named after local sponsors – with panoramic glass walls, changing rooms, lockers, equipment hire, and a café. Courts run daily from 7am to 11pm, which makes early-morning and late-evening slots realistic if peak daytime hours are busy.

Pricing runs roughly £32–£60 per hour depending on time slot. You book directly through Playtomic. The club also offers structured coaching sessions: beginner intro sessions, improver-level group coaching, and intermediate sessions for players who already know the basics but want to sharpen up. Private coaching can be arranged via coaching@padelandplay.co.uk.

If you’re new to padel and looking for the right first club experience, an intro session at Padel + Play is a reasonable starting point – small group, structured format, and the courts are well-maintained.

Barnt Green Sports Club

For players in south Worcestershire – or anyone willing to travel 15 miles south of the city – Barnt Green Sports Club has 3 floodlit outdoor padel courts that opened in August 2024. It’s worth knowing about because it’s the only dedicated padel membership option currently in Worcestershire.

Pay-and-play rates are £24 off-peak or £28 peak per 75-minute session, bookable up to a week in advance through the club’s own booking system (my.barntgreensportsclub.co.uk). Members pay significantly less – £2–£4 per session – though new padel memberships are paused at the moment due to high enrolment. Worth checking back if you’re based in that part of the county.

The Worcestershire wider picture

OMNI Padel has opened at Astwood Business Park in Redditch (B96 6HH), about 15 miles south-east of Worcester. It has 5 courts – a mix of indoor and outdoor – from £20/hr, bookable on Padel Mates. It’s a straightforward pay-and-play venue with a café and changing rooms, and prices are among the keener in the region.

David Lloyd Worcester lists padel facilities but at the time of writing the courts are listed as coming soon. If that’s changed by the time you read this, it’s worth checking their app – you’ll need at minimum a Platinum membership to access racquet sports there.

When Worcester isn’t enough

If you want more court choice or a bigger padel scene, the two natural options from Worcester are both under 30 minutes:

Birmingham has 24+ courts across 7 venues, including Pure Padel in the Jewellery Quarter – the city’s first indoor city-centre club. Pay-and-play from £20/hr. It’s the UK’s second city for padel provision and worth the drive if you’re serious about playing regularly.

Cheltenham is 25 miles south and has 13 courts: The Padel Club at Eagle Tower (4 indoor), East Glos Club (7 outdoor), and Padel Shift at Elkstone Studios. The East Glos club in particular has a well-established social scene.

Gloucester is slightly closer than Cheltenham – about 27 miles – and has The Padel Club at Gloucester Quays with 9 indoor courts, which makes it one of the largest single-site facilities in the South West.

Worcester’s scene is still developing. One solid venue is open, a couple of options are within easy driving distance, and the pipeline – David Lloyd, and presumably others – suggests more courts will follow. For now, Padel + Play is your first call.
