For three days in July, London will have access to the coach behind some of padel’s most decorated players – and to the training methodology that helped produce them.
Manu Martín, the Spanish coach who has worked with men’s world No.1 pair Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, women’s world No.1 Gemma Triay, and former women’s No.1 Alejandra Salazar, is bringing his MM Academy to three London venues for a series of on-court masterclass clinics. The events are organised by Padel Travel X, the event and travel specialists who ran a similar series with world No.7 Paquito Navarro in London back in January.
It’s the most high-profile coaching visit the UK padel scene has seen to date.
Who Manu Martín is
Manu Martín (full name Manuel Martín Reina) is one of the defining figures in professional padel coaching over the past decade. He founded MM Academy, a training system now operating across more than ten countries, built around his ToolFlow® methodology – a framework that breaks padel into technique, tactics, and decision-making as separate, learnable components, not one undifferentiated thing to improve at.
His work with Coello and Tapia, currently the top-ranked men’s pair in the world, is the headline credential. He has also served as a coach to the Spanish national team and has spent years working with players across the top ten of both the men’s and women’s tours. Beyond professional coaching, he has built one of the most-followed padel education channels on YouTube through Mejora Tu Pádel (Improve Your Padel), where he publishes detailed coaching content for club players.
The London visit is part of a broader effort by MM Academy to bring its methodology to markets where padel is growing fast. The UK is one of them.
How the sessions work
Each of the three clinic days is structured around five two-hour sessions run in small groups. The format follows MM Academy’s standard approach: 90 minutes of on-court coaching, followed by a 30-minute Americano-style tournament where players rotate partners and opponents while receiving real-time tactical feedback from Martín and his team.
Martín will be accompanied by four MM Academy coaches. The clinics are designed for players from improver through to advanced level.
The Americano format at the end of each session is a deliberate design choice, not an add-on. Getting feedback during actual match play is central to how MM Academy closes the gap between what players practise and what they do under pressure – drilling in isolation can only take you so far. If you’ve spent time working with a coach in the UK and want to understand how elite-level coaching approaches that same problem, this is a useful comparison point.
Martín framed the clinics plainly: “This is a unique opportunity to learn the MM Academy methodology. Training with me on court in small group sessions. This is not just a clinic. It’s a glimpse into the system behind professional padel training.”
Three venues across London
The tour runs on three consecutive days across the capital:
- 14 July – Padel Hub, North London
- 15 July – Racketeer, Acton
- 16 July – Rocket Padel, Battersea
The spread covers north, west, and south-west London. If you’re travelling in from outside the city, it’s worth picking whichever is most convenient and planning a day around it. None of the three venues is especially out of the way.
Why this visit matters
Access to coaching at this level in the UK has been limited. Most amateur players who want elite-level instruction have had to travel to Spain, where the bulk of professional padel infrastructure sits. The MM Academy has academies across Europe, but nothing yet in Britain.
This clinic series sits alongside a broader moment for UK padel. Premier Padel’s P1 London event in August 2026 will bring the world’s top players to the city for the first time. That event puts the professional game in front of a UK audience; this one puts the coaching behind the professional game in the same room as club players.
Patricia Frost, CEO of Padel Travel X, described the clinics as “a statement of intent for the future of padel in the UK,” adding: “This is an amazing opportunity for amateur club players to get direct access to one of the greatest minds in the sport.”
How to book
Places are strictly limited and demand is expected to be high given the profile of coaching involved. Registration is through Padel Travel X at padeltravelx.com, where full pricing and session availability are listed.
