Search “padel Woking” and you’ll find aggregator sites confidently listing “15+ venues near you” – results padded out from a search radius wide enough to reach into three counties. The honest answer is shorter: there is currently no padel venue open inside Woking. Here’s where to play, and the one development worth watching.

The short version:

  • No padel courts are open and bookable in Woking itself.
  • Padel Tree at Fairoaks Airport, Chobham – the closest development by some distance – is still marked “coming soon” on Playtomic, months after its original target.
  • Ezeepadel Weybridge and Pure Padel Lightwater are the nearest venues you can book today.
  • Woking Park has tennis and pickleball courts, not padel – don’t turn up expecting otherwise.

Is there padel in Woking right now?

No. No padel venue is currently open and bookable inside Woking – the nearest option is still under construction a few miles away in Chobham.

The Padel Directory’s own Woking listing returns “no items found” and tells visitors plainly that it has no padel centres to list in the town. That’s not an oversight – there isn’t one yet.

The closest thing to a Woking venue is Padel Tree’s development at Fairoaks Airport, just over the border in Chobham. It hasn’t opened. Until it does, the realistic options for a Woking-based player are Ezeepadel Weybridge and Pure Padel Lightwater, both a short drive away, with Cobham and Guildford further out if you’re willing to travel.

The venue to watch: Padel Tree, Fairoaks Airport

Padel Tree is converting a hangar at Fairoaks Airport (Chertsey Road, Chobham, GU24 8HU) into six indoor courts – roughly 1.5–2 miles from Woking town centre, making it the closest padel development to the town by a clear margin. It’s the fifth site for founder Dylan Shawyer’s company, which has built a habit of putting courts in unusual spaces, including a multi-storey car park and a floating pontoon on the Thames.

The Woking News & Mail reported construction starting in February 2026 with an early-April opening target. That date has come and gone. As of this research, the venue’s Playtomic listing still shows “coming soon” – around five months past the original plan. If you’re hoping to play close to home, this is the one to keep an eye on, but don’t plan a session around it opening on any particular week.

Nearest bookable padel courts near Woking today

Two venues cover the gap while Fairoaks remains unopened.

Ezeepadel Weybridge, based at Bannatyne Spa Weybridge, is the shorter drive and an established club with a decent number of courts. Pure Padel Lightwater, near Camberley, has six covered courts and is worth the extra couple of miles if Weybridge is booked out. Both run on Playtomic, so you can check live availability before you drive anywhere.

If you’re willing to travel further, CourtFit Cobham (covered in detail in the padel in Surrey guide) and PadelStars at Guildford’s Surrey Sports Park (covered fully in the padel in Guildford guide) are both realistic options, especially Guildford’s, which has four outdoor courts now and a 10-court indoor complex due later in 2026.

Woking Park is not a padel venue

Woking Park’s ClubSpark site has five refurbished courts and online booking at £9.50 an hour – but it’s tennis and pickleball, not padel. It’s an easy mix-up, since pickleball and padel get lumped together by people unfamiliar with either sport, and the LTA’s own booking system lists both at this site. If you’re specifically after padel, this isn’t the venue, however good the courts are for the sports they’re built for.

What to expect once Fairoaks opens

When Padel Tree’s Chobham site does open, it’ll bring something distinctive to the area: six indoor courts inside a converted aircraft hangar, with the building’s large sliding doors retained to open the space out onto the old runway. The adjacent brick building is being fitted out with changing rooms, a café, and storage, which suggests Padel Tree is building a proper social venue, not just a bare set of courts.

For a Woking player, an indoor site this close to home would be the first “yours to book, five minutes away” option in the town’s history. Check Playtomic every few weeks instead of waiting for a big announcement – “coming soon” pages have a habit of flipping to bookable with little warning once the fit-out finishes.

Surrey more broadly is well served for padel – Weybridge, Cobham, Guildford, and the M25 corridor venues are mapped in the padel in Surrey guide. If you’re commuting through neighbouring towns, the padel in Epsom and padel in Slough guides cover the venues either side of the county.
