Rochdale has better padel provision than most Greater Manchester boroughs. While Bury spent years waiting for its first court and Oldham only recently got going, Rochdale already has two indoor venues and 12 courts between them. If you live in OL10, OL11, or OL12, there’s no need to drive to Manchester.
This guide covers the two Rochdale venues, what to expect from each, and when the Manchester option is worth the extra journey.
Deuce Padel Centre: nine courts on College Road
Deuce Padel Centre is the headline venue. Located at Mitchel Hey Mills, College Road, Rochdale, OL12 6AE, it has nine indoor courts – one of the largest padel facilities in the North-West. For context, that’s the same scale as some of Manchester’s bigger clubs, and it’s on the doorstep for most Rochdale players.
Opening hours run from 6am to midnight, seven days a week. Pricing comes in at £20–£36 per hour depending on court type and time of day – the lower end of the range makes this among the more affordable indoor padel in the area. On-site facilities include changing rooms with showers, a lounge area, and a gym. Bookings go through Playtomic.
Nine courts means you’re unlikely to hit a full house when you want to play. The same court count also supports a coaching programme and social events, which matters if you’re newer to the game and want to meet players or improve with proper instruction.
The Padel Spot: three courts, Rooley Moor Road
The Padel Spot sits at Unit 1, Ormerod House, Caldershaw Business Park, Rooley Moor Road, Rochdale, OL12 7LQ. It has three indoor courts, open from 7am to 11pm daily. Court hire runs at £32–£48 per hour, with a 50% discount on all courts Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm – that brings peak pricing down to £16–£24 per hour during off-peak slots, which is very competitive.
Facilities include disabled access, equipment rental, free parking, vending machines, and Wi-Fi. Like Deuce, bookings go through Playtomic, which means you can use the open match feature to find a game without needing your own group of four.
The Padel Spot opened with a strong promotional push and has become a reference point in the area – it’s the venue mentioned in both the Bury padel guide and the Oldham padel guide, since players in those boroughs use it as a local alternative to driving into Manchester.
Which venue to choose
Both venues are fully indoor, both book through Playtomic, and both have free parking. The practical differences:
- Court count: Deuce has nine; The Padel Spot has three. Availability is rarely an issue at Deuce, and the larger venue supports more regular events and coaching.
- Price floor: Deuce starts at £20/hr. The Padel Spot’s off-peak discount brings it lower still during the week, but peak pricing is higher.
- Facilities: Deuce has showers and a gym on site; The Padel Spot is more court-focused.
For a regular player who wants maximum flexibility on scheduling, Deuce Padel Centre is the stronger default. The Padel Spot works well for anyone whose hours are off-peak – the mid-morning discount makes it one of the cheapest padel in the region.
When Manchester is worth the trip
Rochdale’s 12 courts cover most needs, but Manchester adds depth that matters at certain points in a player’s development. The city’s venues include Carbon Padel in West Gorton – 17 courts, billed by the club as the UK’s largest indoor purpose-designed padel club – and a dense cluster of clubs in and around the city centre.
If you’re looking for coached sessions, competitive leagues, or a wider pool of players at your level, Manchester opens up significantly more options. The drive is around 25 minutes on the M62. For players based in Rochdale who are past the early stages and want to progress, it’s worth the occasional trip.
Bury is a closer option for travelling within Greater Manchester – Radcliffe is around 15 minutes from Rochdale town centre and now has two venues at the Globe Industrial Estate, including Padel Inn Radcliffe. Oldham is similar distance in the other direction.
Booking
Both Rochdale venues use Playtomic. Search for “Deuce Padel Centre” or “The Padel Spot” in the app, pick a slot, and pay online – no membership required at either venue for casual court hire. Playskan also lists both clubs if you want to compare availability across the two in a single search.
